Goodbye Zambar, hello Kaia
We are proud to announce that a new Amur leopard has recently arrived. Kaia has settled in well and we hope she will breed with Akin, our resident male next year. In January 2010 we will also say goodbye to Zambar, who was born and hand-reared at Marwell and will be leaving for a new home at Blackpool Zoo.
See photos of Zambar in our flickr group.
We’ve been awarded for sustainability!
We have been awarded certification to the prestigious international standard for Environmental Management Systems. ISO 14001 is the world’s most recognised environmental management system. Just four other UK zoological institutions have achieved this certification.
Investors in People recognition
We are celebrating after receiving high profile recognition for our recruitment, training and development programmes. The prestigious Investors in People standard was awarded for our commitment to our staff.
